District 03 [CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT]
May 09, 2012

3rd District Event Coordinator ~ David Beliveau

I am the new 3rd District Event Coordinator. I’ve been a member of the Hartford Fire Department (CT) for the past 18 ½ years obtaining the rank of Captain. I started my career in the US Army serving 4 years as a firefighter.

After being Honorably discharged from the US Army I became a firefighter on the Hattiesburg Fire Department (MS) Local 184 for 6 yrs. I’m married and have 3 children and 4 grand children. My son is a Firefighter with the Hattiesburg Fire Department (MS) Local 184; my son-n-law is a Battalion Chief on the Petal Fire Department (MS), my brother is a Captain on the East Hartford Fire Department (CT) local 1548, and his son just became a firefighter on the Hartford Fire Department (CT) local 760.

I started my riding 4 years ago; I came home one day and told my wife I wanted to go look at bikes. We went looking and that night and I decided it was time to get one. I bought a 2005 Vulcan Nomad. The next day I asked a brother firefighter to come over and teach me how to ride his and then went and got my learners permit so I could get my bike the following day. Yea, I passed and made it home safely. Now I try to ride every day when I’m off.

I hope to get the 3rd District riding together more. Anytime anyone gets members together for a ride let me know so I can get it out to other members that might want to go for a ride.

One last thing, a motorcycle crash saved my brother. While X-raying him for his injuries from the crash they found a spot on a kidney (Cancer). They removed his kidney and all the cancer with it. To me the crash was a blessing in disguise. He’s back to full duty. Now maybe he’ll get back on a bike. Hope to see every one on a ride soon.

As stipulated in the IAFF-MG Constitution and By-laws, each IAFF-MG District must hold at least two events annually. If you should have any questions and/or need additional information about upcoming District Events please contact me or the IAFF-MG's National Coordinator at mcrouse@iaff.org. Ride Safe ~ David

Jim Beecken ~ 4th District Event Coordinator

I am currently a Master Fire Fighter with the Montgomery County, MD Fire and Rescue Services assigned to AT-719. I have served Local 1664 in several capacities including Secretary/Treasurer and 1st VP. Currently, I am our PAC Treasurer. Married nearly 20 years to my wife Julie (luckily she enjoys riding). We share the house with Gus and Colt (canines). I started my motorcycling adventures after 9-11. I figured life is too short, go after that apple and suffer the repercussions later. After I got my bike, I was hooked. I have gone on rides with my Brothers and Sisters to places like Bar Harbor, ME, Victoria, BC, Colorado Springs, CO and numerous places in between.

I have 80,000+ miles under my belt between my Road King and my BMW K1200. I ride with the best group of people under the sun. Thanks to the first National Rally I now have friends from all over North America that work in my profession and enjoy riding.

I am a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Brookfield, WI Fire Department, starting in 1997. I am a Charter Member of the IAFF-MG. It was an honor when I was asked to be the Wisconsin State Coordinator. Now it’s an even greater privilege to be appointed as the 5th District Event Coordinator.

6th District Event Coordinator ~ Greg Houston

I have been a firefighter with Prince George Fire Rescue since November of 2005 and as an active member of the IAFF Motorcycle Group and enthusiastic Harley owner, I am honoured to be appointed the District Event Coordinator for the 6thDistrict.

I have enjoyed riding since purchasing my first Harley, a 2004 V-rod, in the summer of 2005.  I ordered the bike sight unseen and it arrived the day I obtained my learner’s licence.  Since then I have seen some fantastic areas of both our countries, and I am certainly not shy about touring.  I welcome the opportunity to travel the many great roads and visit the incredible destinations we have across Canada and the U.S.

I believe that the IAFF-MG will only be as good as the members who make up it’s ranks, and I would encourage all of our members to get out and participate in any of the events that the IAFF-MG holds.  There could not be a better way to connect with your brothers and sisters from other Locals who share a common love of riding!

As stipulated in the IAFF-MG Constitution and By-laws, each IAFF-MG District must hold at least two events annually.   Please do not hesitate to contact me with any ideas you may have for District rides.

If you should have any questions and/or need additional information about upcoming District Events please contact me or the IAFF-MG's National Coordinator at mcrouse@iaff.org.

Ride Safe ~ Greg

Mark Uttley ~ 13th District Event Coordinator

I am pleased to be appointed as the new 13th DEC. I look forward to meeting and riding with as many of the members of the IAFFMG as possible.

I have 28 years on the job at Windsor Fire and Rescue Service with the rank of Captain and assigned to one of 3 Provincial Hazmat/CBRNE teams.

I ride a 2007 HD Ultra Classic with my wife of 32yrs., Debbie. We’ve managed to log 52,000km since we got the Ultra in May 07. Previously I had a Suzuki Boulevard which my son now rides. He’s an IAFFMG associate member and a firefighter with the Essex Volunteer Fire dept. My daughter rides a 2006 HD Deluxe with a Big Bore kit so we are somewhat a biker family.

Luckily, I was able to make the 1st National Rally in Sturgis where we met many new friends, couldn’t get to the 2nd Rally but will be at the 3rd National Rally in Colorado Springs and look forward to hooking up with everyone. In May 09, we joined up with members of the 1st and 4th district for the Ontario Canada portion of the Dan Miller Memorial Ride.

Our big rides for 09 were Cape Cod in June and the upcoming National Rally in Colorado Springs. District 13 has been pretty quiet so I’d like to change that with some rides for the MG and work on increasing members.
